A quick and easy baked taco recipe that combines traditional taco flavors with a hassle-free preparation method for a crunchy, cheesy meal.

Ingredients

  • Taco shells
  • Ground beef
  • Cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • Taco seasoning
  • Onion (optional)
  • Bell pepper (optional)
  • Olive oil
  • Sour cream (for serving)
  • Lettuce (for serving)
  • Tomatoes (for serving)
  • Salsa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and bell pepper; sautรฉ until softened (about 4โ€“5 minutes).
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water; simmer until evenly mixed and slightly saucy.
  5. Fill each taco shell with the seasoned beef (about three-quarters full).
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Arrange tacos on a baking sheet and bake for 10โ€“15 minutes, until shells are crispy and cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa.

Notes

Store leftover filling in an airtight container for up to 3โ€“4 days. Reheat assembled tacos in a 350ยฐF oven for crispness.
